“This field is really exciting as it sits on the intersections of numerous others — it combines components from systems building, economics, game theoryand programming languages sometimes, and also a series of databases. Often a whole lot of different components in the personal computer science spectrum,” Gün Sirer clarifies during his discussion with Bitcoin.com.
“My group has been looking at what should the infrastructure of all blockchains be. We’re at a very interesting moment, and people are coming up with brand new consensus protocols every day — One thing I keep an eye out for is fresh consensus protocols — Last year, not this Specific year but the year after, I guess will be the year old Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocols,” Gün Sirer informs our video host.
Additionally, Gün Sirer clarifies He is excited about new consensus mechanics and believes that there will be a Substantial shift in the next year and a half.

“My distinct place at the spectrum is quite much towards the implementation side. If I were able to sort of attempt to map everyone on a mythical linear scale, at which about the right hand side you’ve wizard hats, the theoretical individuals, and on the other hand, you have people who build stuff with hard hats. I’m extremely pleased with my hard hat; I’m very proud of becoming someone who really builds things that work,” Gün Sirer emphasizes to Mike Malley throughout their discussion.

Construction Things That Offer Real-world Use Cases

Those who exist now are still incredibly intricate and even in my field does not feel like they are warranted well enough that they secure enough to actually ‘bet the farm’ In just a year at a half you will see PoS actually start to take shape — I’m very excited about that.

In the Satoshi’s Vision Conference at Tokyo, our Bitcoin.com video host Mike Malley chatted with the Cornell CS professor Emin Gün Sirer about on-chain scaling and the Bitcoin Cash network.
